At home, again

This was a gig arranged at short notice owing to a mix up on the part of the brewery. However, a support was organised, a good crowd turned up and we looked forward to another great night at one of our best local venues.

One of the favoured Yamahas

We hadn't played for a while and opened up with a couple of favourites from the Angel Wings album.

The recently acquired Musicman bass

This is the latest guitar in the bass collection - an early 1990s Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray Bass, acquired at a favourable price via ebay. It sounds punchy and bright with a full round bottom end through the twin Trace Elliot amps. Well, I like it anyway!

Tony and Nick - a great support

Tony - vocals and guitar and Nick - double bass, provided a well-received support. They played a mixture of established and original material - just the job!

1968

That's nothing to do with the date, but Steve's newest song. It recalls some of his memories from that year - leaving school, the boy becoming a man, the mod scooter etc. The song chugs along strongly and we think it would provide Shakin' Stevens with another hit!

The Red Electric Guitar

When I was young I used to see pictures of Hank Marvin, with The Shadows, and his red electric guitar - and dreamed of one day having one. Well, in recent years, I have finally acquired one - like the one played by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits.

The Godfather of Folk!

This is the venerable Barry "Baz to his friends" Yates - who, for longer that anyone can remember, has actively promoted quality live music in the area. He has supported so many performers for so long, he should receive an award. He always has our heart-felt thanks and appreciation for what he does for us. Cheers, Baz!

Thanks again to Jan, for the pics.

Here's to next time!
